Yes, plugs and injectors. Techron works well, and does the job and is widely available and reasonably priced. But that is not enough for some opinionated folks.... :)

The fuel filters are good for well over 100,000 miles. With plastic fuel tanks, much of the contamination in the fuel which was from the steel tanks has been eliminated. And someone finally figured out that putting unleaded fuel into lead coated steel tanks was silly....

Your problem sounds like off brand plugs in a turbo. But we need more info.

Whenever something like this happens, pull the plugs and look at them. They do show whats happening in the combustion chamber. I would be suspicious that they are dark to black with misfire tracks throught the deposits. Check the gap as well. Cracked electrode insulators are seen but rarely.

The DI cassettes most of the time fail completely without warning.

At higher pressures, the breakdown voltage across the 'air' gap of the spark gap goes up. This is what causes ignition missing when the boost pressure is up. The more it misses the more fouled the plugs are getting.

The correct plug for the turbo is ngk bcpr6es11 gapped to 1 mm or .039". As delivered they will have a 1.1mm gap, so the new ones do need to be adjusted. The Bosch platinums will foul in the turbo and do exactly what you are experiencing.
