or emory(sp?) cloth to clean/smooth the contacts. If you aren't worried about a clean looking surface, forgetaboutit. The cap and rotor last for quite a while.
That said; I did change the cap, rotor, and added magnecor plug wires at about 70k miles. The original wires still looked ok, but I wanted a change. After the new components, the car SEEMED to run a little smoother; not that a 4-banger ever runs smoothly. Plus the throttle response and mileage were a little better as well. Of course, that could have been wishfull thinking on my part after spending money on the replaced parts!!!
