I could have made 3 years on the P-zeros but I switched them out as they were out of round and they age hardened from the heat after 2 years. As they hardened up, the out of round became rudely apparent as the side walls became non compliant.
I do mostly commuter miles and don't spin my tires, but I can do some aggressive braking and cornering.
These tires had a 140 wear index. If you are kind to these and other soft tires, they will age to become wear resitant and will last a long time. With tires like these if you drive them aggressively when they are green they will wear rapidly as you have seen.
As a result of the P-zero problems, I got Michelin Pilot Sports because of Michelin's reputation for superior quality and roundness. I had them mounted at TireRack with the Hunter GSP???? balancing machine which is a wonder to behold. It will detect a problem with tire out-of-round or wheel/rim problems as well. The Sports have a wear index of 180... higher than I would like. After 2 years they are looking quite good. They are a great performance tire, but perhaps not as sticky as a 140 wear index tire.
