I agree with REM. The easiest option would be to get hold of a stock speaker if you can.
I too have fitted Infinity drivers in my front doors, with Infinity tweeters in the dash mounts and cross overs mounted under the dash.
This is an expensive option as the quality of these speakers are exceptional.
From the tone of your post, it sounds as though you are reluctant to spend a lot of cash upgrading your system although it does sound great when you do, going down the upgrade route, you need to think about sub woofers, additional amps etc which can get a bit out of hand. I would not advise going down this route unless you are confident about what you are doing, or in pursuit of superior quality or volume, as the wiring through the door plugs alone can get troublesome.
If you do decide to buy a 3rd part speaker set as replacements for the originals, then they should be very easy to wire. Just cut off the old crimp if required, and re-crimp the new one on the wire as supplied with the new speakers. make sure that you get the phasing right (ie positive wire connected to positive terminal on speaker).
Buy a two way speaker with good low end range. the stock dash speakers handle the high frequencies, and although these are not very good quality at all, they are all you have, so you will have to live with this.
To replace the front door speakers with 3rd party replacements is an easy job.
Be careful when removing the door trim, take your time and be careful when removing the plastic rivets. Push the black core back about 5mm and then withdraw the whole rivet with a flat bladed knife. Be careful not to lose the core as I did !! as you will need to get a new one from your dealer.
I can't remember which one of the speaker terminals is the positive, I think its the smaller crimp of the two, but of you have a Haynes manual this will be detailed.
Also from memory I think that the speakers are held in with torx screws, so you will need one of these. You can't use a screwdriver.
Take your time and you will be fine.
