that will hold it's value, or is trouble free?
That is certainly a quality one might seek in an automobile. A Honda Accord or Toyota Camry would fit the bill. While reliable, both cars are rather bland, boring, dull and common. Clearly one of the appeals of a Saab is its uniqueness. Not as rare as a Maserati but the upkeep isn't even close! In addition my 1996 Saab 900 SETC is a joy to drive.
Even if the speedometer isn't pegged all of the time the grin meter is! Much more fun than my wife's Volvo...or the 98 Accord coupe we owned. Or the Isuzu Troopers, Mazda 626 Turbo, Merkur XR4ti, Honda Civics, MGB, etc etc etc. The Saab (now at 63K miles) has been more trouble-free than the two Chrysler mini-vans I owned. My daughters Neon has been nothing but trouble. So far the problems with my Saab have been minimal. Some of the repairs I've done myself with the help/tips of others on the board. Hey Saabs are great cars...not perfect...have their quirks but (I believe) worth the effort to maintain them. Hope you come to appreciate your new car. Perhaps you will be surprised how trouble-free (not maintenance-free) it is.
