Bought the car 15 months ago - it was checked over and OKed by the same dealer. The wearing in the suspension & bushings was picked up in a roadworthiness test & I was required to fix them. The dealer claims that these get worn especially over speed ramps (but I do not actually drive over many on the routes I use).
I did have a collision - they hit the driver's door at about a 45 degree angle. A body shop did the repairs and the other party paid as it was their fault. Could the damage have been caused by that? The other car (a ford van) was a near write-off but from the inside of the 900 you would not have noticed any damage.
The car now has 46k on it - it was fully serviced at 36k & various repairs done. I am absolutely confident the mileage is genuine as I checked it out fully when buying.
I used to DIY service my cars when a) I had the time and b) they were a lot simpler!
The gas cap was cracked (around the edge) but seemed to work perfectly.
The dealer indicated a leak and hence the front crank seal - but I never noticed it.
I OK'ed all the work but had little option - here you get a limited period to put right faults identified in a roadworthiness test and I was out of the country for most of the period.
Also only two SAAB dealers in Dublin so not much choice.
Thanks for the response.
