ok ... my father is and has been a machanic all his life... he cant figure this one out, told me to post here. Here it goes:
The problem - When i go to start the car, it randomly will not. I hear a slight clicking noise where the fuses are, and the car just keeps turning over. (Fuses and everything under dash inspected) Then if i wait maybe lets say 10 min, try again, the car will start normally, and strong. Now lets say i want to start the car, and i parked down hill, well then i let it roll and start it in motion.
This is what my father checked already - He double checked if fuel is getting to the engine, it is with out a prob. Next he checked the ignition coil, he is half sure on this one, becasue a year ago the distrubuter area was leaking, he put a new one in(distributer). With this he says that maybe some oil, during the leaking, got in there and ruined the coil however. (Its the non turbo 2.3 engine, so if u look, these parts are close to each other, just the coil is lower a little bit.) However the signal to the coil itself is fine. But no high voltage comes out to the distributer cap when its now starting. Theres also a new fuel pump relay just to make sure. but as I said in the begining, the thing starts!!!!!!!! When you ROLL THE CAR, it STARTS! Now again the car turns over perfect... its so weird. ok thanks for any help with this.... u guys are great.
