I recall that some 2.3NA's have the oil coolers. Perhaps Saab USA spec'd this as some vehicles in Texas and other places might need such things.

And it does not seem possible that synthetic oil would care about that. But if the temperatures climb, perhaps the oil is then too thin. Then cam lobes and chains might be stressed. Then again, if dyno oil allows the rings to stick, the blow by products could damage the dyno oil.

If I had a 2.3, I would be wanting to use a heaver oil, and synthetic to boot. If I had been on dyno, I would be treating for stuck rings as well while switching to Mobil One. Installing a real oil guage might be a good idea too. And a good magnetic oil plug would indicate if there was a severe steel or iron wear problem.

I know folks don't want to hear this, but with the cost of replacing the chains, and the cost when the engine gets trashed, the V6 with its costs of timing belts and tensioners does not look so bad in comparison.

So for these expensive chain replacements, this includes?

sprockets?
balancer bearings?
all chains?
tensioners?
new front engine seals?
