I don't know if I should consider myself lucky, but I just passed the 200,000 mark with my car. I purchased it new in 1994 as I did not think my 1984 900 turbo would last for much longer (I still have it - 304,000 miles). Neither of these cars has ever left me stranded.

I have read here that many of you have experienced a variety of problems with the NG900's, especially the 94-96 models, and that cost of ownership is high. I am on my original clutch, transmission, rear brakes, DI cartridge, A/C and front and rear suspension. I have replaced the following;

7 sets of tires - 3,000.00
front brakes/rotors - 140.00
washer pump - 30.00
2 water pumps - 200.00
4 serpentine belts - 100.00
idler pulleys - 50.00
upgraded shift linkage - 230.00
10 sets of plugs - 100.00
65 oil changes (Castrol 10w30, Cheapo filter)-650.00
all radiator hoses (7) - 120.00
10 pollen filters - 250.00
broken antenna - left it that way, I have replaced too many Saab power antennas over the years

Folks, this isn't bad at all. I have NO complaints. This car has been relatively cheap to own. It still doesn't use oil, doesn't leak anything and runs great. It has been cheaper and more trouble free than my wife's Acura (which we just put a transmission in). Best of all, everything has been paid for years ago, so now I just kick back and rack up the miles, enjoying my low property taxes and insurance rates because I drive great old cars that still make me smile.

Happy motoring.
