Not only have I learned since finding this board (and the bmw motorcycle boards) (a) how to take charge and fix my own car/bike when possible (b) tremendous knowledge about how these things work, but I've also learned how much I enjoy working on the car, as you can probably tell, I can now spend hours in the garage just tracking down oil leaks, etc., and I'm positive I've saved at least $1,000 over going to the dealer - do I really need to lose the car for a day to get the windshield washer check valve fixed, when I can do it in less time than it takes to drive there?

Now I have to find the valve, I emailed schrader, haven't heard back, probably won't, I assume they dont sell to consumer especially one small piece, and I spent about two hours on Google trying to find a source for them, but they all seem to be for tires. I will probably buy some product that has the valve in it as part of a larger product (like a NO2 hose/coupler) hopefully very cheap, then pull it apart to get at the $.50 core.
