Someone once told me the answer to every question is, "It depends". I currently have a NG900S and miss my 86 900S. However, I have 2 kids in car seats and it just makes more sense to drive the NG 5dr. If the kids were not part of the equation I would try to buy an SPG with 100k on it and drive it for 5 years or so. You can always pick up a NG later but the classic is slowly disappearing. Try and drive them both (a couple of times) and see which clicks for you.
