Out of Round Rim

Just had my car into my local indy for new strut mounts and struts. He noted that I have an out of round rim, which is likely the cause of the shake I feel at 45 - 55 mph. Can rims be set "true" again, or once they're out of round do they need to be replaced? I picked my car up after hours and didn't have the chance to ask him about this-
Thanks,
Marybeth
