I sold my 1996 900S but kept the Clarion 6 CD Changer. After reading the archives I note that early in its life the 9-3 went from a Clarion headset to a Pioneer. Well, this past weekend we picked up our "new-to-us" 1999 9-3 LPT and after pulling the left fender liner I didn't find the hoped for round 11 pin DIN plug and wire. What I did find was an eight pin rectangular plug - is this the CD plug?? (?? I haven't pulled my head set to see what make it is or what shape the plug on the back is but I figured that both ends may not be the same anyway!) IF (big if) that is the CD changer plug how do I make a patch cable to make the Clarion changer recognize a different manufacturer's head unit - or can I. Has any one done a fix for this combination and if so what wire colour in the rectangular (1999) plug goes to which location in the DIN socket of the changer. I sure hope I don't have to buy another changer - by the way, if I do have to buy a new changer what model do I ask the shop for??
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
