Might well be the flex pipe as another poster mentioned. Check to see if the stainless steel mesh is sooty black or otherwise heat discolored.
From there, crawl under your well blocked vehicle and while running, feel around to determine any other source of the leak(run it up on some bricks to get enough clearance, or take it to a muffler shop for an estimate and let THEM find the source of the leak). Might as well replace both the flex midpipe and the middle muffler if one or the other is bad. Make sure you buy new Saab style clamps--- they're the best, and your old ones probably don't have much life in them at this point.
