Comments based on using and selling AMSOIL for over 25 years:
Before changing to synthetic, I recommend using a good engine flush--best I know of are made by AMSOIL and BG. If you don't, or won't, flush, then go ahead and change. Watch for any sudden increase in oil consumption--if you see that, change the filter and top off.
Especially if you don't use a flush, you might want to dump the first batch after 4-5,000 miles, because it will clean.
I use AMSOIL 0W-30 in all my cars--85 Volvo 245 turbo, 85 Saab 900T, 88 Saab 9000T, 90 Dodge 1 ton van. My kids use 0W-30 in a Volvo 850 Turbo, a Saab 9000, A Subaru Outback, and a 95 Saab 900SEturbo. It works!!!!
