Can too much transaxle fluid cause a CEL?

When I changed my manual transaxle fluid to Red Line a little bit ago, I put in just under 2 quarts before it started to come out of the check/level plug. Now, only the left side of the car was jacked up, so that may have led me to put in too much fluid. The CEL came on a day or so later when I was waiting at a stop light. Could this be the cause, or should I look elsewhere?
