I decided to remove the wiring loom at the ECU.
The Heynes manual electrical diagram luckily describes the Bosch system so I could measure all the sensors to the ECU. I suspected the coolant sensor, but that one measured correctly.
I removed spark plugs and also did a compression test while I was there
Measures
1. 210psi
2. 210psi
3. 225psi
4. 215psi
So they look OK but not perfect I would say with 3. unusually high compared to the others.
The color of all the plugs was somehow a bit to black indicating that I am running rich. But the tip and electrode have good color. Also the car is mainly driven for short journeys which could also contribute to this slightly rich mixtures. Next step it will be to check the O2 (lamda sensor) operation. I have no record when that one was last changed so it may indirectly contribute to the starting inperfections that I experience.
