Well, lesslike a chestnut, more like a reverse ship in a bottle ;) ... it's just held in there with a dab or two of something (epoxy or heat bonding), you have to break it loose (with a screwdriver) and kind of rattle it around inside to get the pieces out the lamp hole (maybe grab with needle nose pliers -- it won't go in one piece). I did mine a couple years ago, you might end up with a tiny fleck of orange left where it adhered, nothing noticeable.
US DOT mandates an orange reflector on the front, so I guess most automakers integrated them for the US market. I think most cars look better without. FYI, I don't know if anyone here has tried them, but one of the bulb companies makes orange bulbs that look silver when they're off, to complete the no-orange look.
