It has been my experience that shocks last about 60k miles. Beyond that the suspension may work OK but the shocks are tired. I just replaced all 4 on my 1998 900S and the car is totally transformed. Handling, comfort and breaking are all improved, very noticeably.

-- 2 KYB front strut mounts from Tire Rack, $105 delivered
-- bunch of lock nuts, bushings, etc. from geniunesaab.com, $77 delivered
