I have a '97 SETC and my brother has a '97 SET, neither one of us has spent anywhere near that kind of money on our cars. I have owned the car for almost 3 years and have spent an average of about $50 a month on the car, including Oil changes, Brakes, Tires and everything else except gas (which costs me about $150 per month). This car has been Much, Much, MUCH more cost effective than the Mitsubishi I had last, and its still a fun car. My brother has spent slightly more on repairs, but he dosnt get as many oil changes, tires and things because he dosnt drive as much so I would say he averages around the same as me. Any time you buy a used car you take the risk of things going wrong, but in my personal experience SAAB is about in the middle, better than mitsubishi or dodge but worse than honda or toyota.
