Kim--
A lot of folks whine about maintaining a Saab--especially the early NGs (94-95.) Perhaps my experiences are unusual, maybe I've just been lucky. My '95 SEt has 205K and runs great. She came to live with me 5 years ago with 19,000 miles on her. I do a LOT of driving, so my costs may be greater than yours. I have her oil changed every 5K (which is about every 45-60 days) and do her major service once a year. She has been remarkably trouble free--her original DI cassette was replaced at 150K--and I did that as PM--it hadn't failed. Yes, I've had to have her idler pulley replaced (she's on her third set.) I have found that the V6 900s and the 9000s were more problematical and more expensive to maintain. So, I say go for it!! Acuras tend to rust out and they are frequently theft-bait (I work for an insurance company in Mass, so I get a lot of vandalism claims from Acura/Honda owners). Besides, Acuras don;t hold their value as well as Saabs.
Good luck!!
