Timing Belt KIlls V6 Saab

First time at this site...wish I had visited
sooner.
Replaced timing belt at 95K when I purchased my used
1994 v6 Saab. Was all set to replace belt
at another 30K but was told twice by Saab dealer mechanics
that I had the "new" style that was good for 60K
and not to replace belt. Well....engine was destroyed
when what I belive I was told "the tensioner on the belt
caused the belt to jump timing" (42K on the new belt)
....if only I had changed belt and tensioner at 30K like
I had wanted to maybe my Saab would be alive today.
Is there any way to recoup loss?
