Expected recovery on my knee is 6-8 weeks. I am already walking in an immobilizer without crutches, and already bending my knee (controlled) to a 60-degree bend. Vicodin, Vioxx, and ice are still my best friends though. I must have it bending to 90-degrees by this coming Friday or else surgery becomes more of an option. I don't like the sound of that though.

Yes, I had my seat belt on. I don't know what hit my sternum with such force as to break it, but I'm guessing it was the airbag deploying which did it. The safety belt fractured my left-side collarbone and left a nasty deep bruise on my left hip bone. My knee hit the lower dash panel and that is definitely what broke it.

Indeed, I feel this is a great demonstration of the crumple zones on the car (the side-view of my car - below - illustrates this best). Totally kept the passenger compartment free of intrusion or structural compromise. I sent the pics along to Saab along with praise for their engineering. IN another car I am sure I wouldn't have been as lucky.
