***what follows assumes that your speedometer is accurate to begin with***
With regards to the accuracy of your speedo / odo, the two things you need to be concerned about is the relationship between the sidewall height of the tire, and your wheel diameter (17"). Since you are upgrading the wheel by 2", your sidewall height needs to be reduced in order to have the same overall diameter as your old 15" wheels & tires.
If I remember correctly then you should have 195/60-15 tires (stock size)on the vehicle right now. A 205/45-17 tire size with 17" rims should fit in such a way that speedo/odo will not need any adjustment at all.
At 60mph with 205/45-17 tire size and 17" wheels, you will be off by about 0.12 MPH - negligible. Even at 120mph the difference is still only 0.25 MPH.
There is a tool on the Web you can use to calculate speedometer differences between wheel/tire sizes. It can be found at the link below. Use the "Convert P-Metric tire to Tire Diameter inches" calculator at the bottom of the page to find your actual wheel diameter for the new and old sizes, and then plug those values into the top "Speedo converter" calculator. Hope that helps.
