For the last few weeks when ever I hit the brakes the steering wheel would vibrate badly. This weekend I was prepared to change the rotors. However, when I took the brakes apart, the pads showed some serious uneven wear. The top of the outside pad was worn about 1/8" to 1/4" more than the bottom, and the inside pad was the oposite. I took the caliper apart to check them. The guide pins moved smoothly. The sleeves where the pins slide in are rubber and have a lot of play. The rubber looks fine, but I was supprised the sleeves where not metal.
I greased the pins and the ears of the pads. Is there anything else I need to do? Has anyone else had this problem? Although this should not make a difference, I have ATE Powerdisc rotors with EBC Greenstuff pads.
Thanks in advance for your help.
