Mike - I live in NH, too (Merrimack). Last fall I got my son a 95 900S and ran snows thru the winter. Needed summer wheels/tires, and went around and around on what to get. Given he's only 17 and isn't really good about avoiding obstacles on the road like potholes, I opted for the OEM size 15" wheels/tires. Found a set on auction from Direct Tire on ebay - Fondmetal wheels and had them put some Yokohama Avid H4's on the wheels for $490 shipped to my house. The actually do really well. I'd imagine a 16" wheel might give a bit better cornering, but in my case the extra rubber between the wheel and the potholes should give a longer-lasting setup. The 17" wheels on an NG900 up here would be close to suicide for the wheels, plus I don't think that they'd make that much difference in handling.
