and get rid of that pesky old cluth at the same time? Personally, assuming I had the money to fix the seal and clutch, I would take it to the nearest quarter mile track and beat the hell out of it. When else can you drop the clutch at 5000 rpms and not worry about burning it out. I would try to do this close to my mechanic if he was going to change it in case you do completely fry the clutch. Go out and see what you can run. Thats what I would do, but if you do a good burnout take a pic ;)
