Yes, there is a new(er) power steering fluid. In mid-1997 Saab switched to Pentosin CHF-11 synthetic fluid, which is about 10 times more expensive than the regular GM oil-type fluid. I haven't heard any complaints about the regular stuff, but if you want to switch to Pentosin, you'll have to flush out the system because the two types aren't compatible. As for antifreeze, most people just stick with what's currently in their cars. A lot of them have gotten flushed and filled with plain-old green antifreeze, so if that's what you have, then just go to the auto parts store and get some Prestone. As far as I know, most Saabs came with blue fluid, which is supposedly compatible with the regular green stuff, but your Saab dealer will sell you a gallon of blue fluid without gouging you too badly. It has a bittering agent in it so you're less likely to kill your pet if you leave it out.
