T-belt failure would result in you + new engine = $$$$$. I hope your dealer had the wherewithal to tell you to tow it rather than drive it.
Sorry to break the news, but T-belt replacement is a warranty item on the V6, regardless of age: its replaced no charge at 35k, 65k, and 95k, +/- 1500 miles. Plus there is a new tensioner assembly that, the first time, is also warranty.
See the thread from yesterday started by "Chris" on his v6 failure for more information. Hmmmmm, another bad tensioner pulley? Could you check and see, did they install the new one at 83k, see that thread for part no. What is the history of T-belt replacement in your car?
My indie told me that Saab has now mandated to dealers to replace the T-belt AND tensioner assembly ANYTIME the T-belt is removed, even if it was just done a week before, I'm wondering if a bad batch of tensioners wound up in the mix that they just can't trace to particular cars?
Good luck.
