For the past 8 mos. I've had this CE light, in my '94 900s, that just won't go away. The dealer couldn't find anything and the indy shop couldn't find anything. The diagnostic gets a lean report, but there are no vaccuum leaks or anything else. So, I have been driving since January with the light on. Then, 2 weeks ago, the light went out. Whoa. It came back on again a few days later, but went out again. Last week, after the car was in the shop getting a new timing chain & clutch cable, (ouch, another story)the light came back on, so I had them run the diagnostic again. Same code,lean fuel mixture, no obvious problems, but they got a code for a malfunction in the ECU (control module)Something is wacky somewhere. How can you test the computer? Has anyone run into this? I've searched the board but can't find much talk about the computer. Maybe I'm using the wrong term. It could be psychological, but I swear when the light went out the performance improved. Can the control module detect a lean mixture and adjust the fuel mixture so to starve the engine? Am I making sense? Do I have a mentally challenged vehicle?
