'96 saab cd player

I have a '96 SAAB convertible that was recently serviced. When the car was returned everything worked fine with the exception of the cd player; which did not work. I took the car back to the service center where they tried to make it operational. It did not work. They said that these cd players go out on the '96 models without notice. The same line was pitched five months ago when the radio went out during servicing and I had to replace it.
It is my contention that the cd player was working fine at the time I took the car in, but did not when I picked it up. When such mishaps occur while the car is in possession of a third, should they not be responsible for it condition upon the vehicle's return? I took it back and they disconnected it and reconnected it, but it did not work. Because of the hour They asked me to bring it back one day next week so they can give it a thorough once over. At my cost and expense.
Any feedback would be appreciated?
Thanks
CTJ
