I have a 96 SETC and did the rack, no wiring install. The U-Haul installation has been fine, a bit crooked but nothing that is really noticeable and certainly not a problem (you can only notice when the rack is on).
I have a Thule 1 1/4" rack which can hold 4 bikes. I've carried three no problem, although it's a fair amount of weight depending on the type of bike. I just purchased two top tube adapters for $50 for both (I had a coupon) but they run around $30 everywhere. I bought the Thule ones which I haven't used yet. I wouldn't recommend the Delta - the coating on the contact points wore off on a friend's set so a rag is needed to prevent damage to your bike's finish. The Yakima ones are all plastic but have been highly recommended, a friend uses one for his 35# beast with no problems and they won't damage the finish.
I would buy the rack based on the one with the features/price you like best and then get the received that's appropriate. Call and check if they have a 2" kit for your car and that it's not more expensive - generally 2" offers more flexibility as you can always use an adapter to fit smaller receivers.
Good luck and have fun,
Ian
