This may be considered off topic, but it may prove useful to many of you, which is one of the purposes of this BB.

I've been using/reading/contributing to this BB for several weeks since buying my first Saab: '97 900SET Coupe. Like many of you I've been ordering many of my parts & accessories on-line from the great TSN sponsors and other on-line vendors as well. Given the heightended security concerns about using your credit card for on-line purchases, I offer the following for your consideration.

Check out "Shop Safe" (mbnashopsafe.com). If you have a credit card issued by an MBNA-member bank, then the Shop Safe system will generate a one-time-use credit card number (linked to your real credit card number) for your on-line purchase; you set the credit limit and the expiration date. This service is all totally free, and very simple, safe, and secure. Neither the merchant nor a hacker ever sees your real credit card number, and you're charge purchase is transparently blended in with your regular credit card bill. How do you know whether you have an MBNA credit card? Look for "MBNA" in the small print on the back of some of your credit cards. I also believe similar free services are provided by other credit card companies, such as Discover, AMEXCO, etc.
