I don't consider that to be very reliable compared to what others experience with their new cars. My '97 900S has been a little more reliable.
Not sure of the mileages, but had the following services done in the first 50,000 miles
- replaced hood badge
- put new A/C compressor
- replaced SID due to loss of lines- had them fix a few squeaks on the front passenger door
- replaced both mufflers at different points in time
After 50,000 miles, have had the following
- A/C still groans at start-up, but works
- power antenna stopped working
- lost lines of display on SID again
- replaced battery
- replaced front brake pads
- washer fluid check valves needed to be replaced
- replaced idler pulleys and belt for preventative maintenance
- SRS light came on after battery change, just needed to be reset
- rear calipers were sticking, replaced pins
- exhaust pipe clunk on bumpy left hand turns
- minor wheel shake at 70 mph, not wheel related, but haven't delved into it yet- front passenger door won't unlock or open, haven't attempted to get it fixed yet
I have spent very little thus far on expected repairs, (knock on wood). All I do is regular maintenance with oil changes every 5 to 6 thousand miles, change fluids, filters, get tune-ups every 50K or so. She has held together quite well considering our crappy roads and crazy weather.
