I don't have much to add to Derek's comments, I think he pretty much summed up my feelings too. I think the V6 has gotten a bad rap (maybe arguably deserved, I don't want to go down this path again on this list), but I think if it is well maintained its not any worse than any other motor vehicle.

As for myself, I love my car and am in the process of convincing the wife that when we get our new '04 9-5 Aero in the next year we should just keep the old 900 SEv6 since it wont be worth anything anyway. We could use it for Home Depot runs and such and when/if something fatal happens (say over $1000 to repair) we dump it. She thinks I'm nuts and maybe I am, but I love my car darn it!
