Well I wanted to share my experience with Monroe sensatrac Rear shocks. I put them on my 98SET last weekend. I had signs of slight fuid leaking on my OEM Boog with 79k miles. Much to my surprise the old shocks pumped themself back up after compressing them and they were still charged in light of the slight fluid leaking. Sears had a great deal on the Monroe sensatrac for $26.95 each where Advance was 59.99 each for the same number 5983. I immediately noticed that the OEM shock extended was 3+ inches longer than the Monroe. I went to Monroe and Partamerica's website and checked the number before installation due to the lenth difference and 5983 was the number. I found it interesting that Partsamerica showed LE10112 limited edition sold in pairs but use the 5983 after the stock LE10112 were depleted. I have read the board and people stated Monroes were made in Italy. These 5983 were USA.

Now for the problem. I imediately noticed a constant flex in my seat from reverberation from the rear end of the car. Then I developed a harmonic vibration from the rear. I had the tires rotated and balanced to no avail. The back was so stiff that I cound not bounce the car from the back bumper. I luckely kept the old ones and last night took off the new ones and put the old ones back on. When removing the right one I just about could not depress it to get it out. It had a stuck valve I think. I returned them to sears for a refund without problems. I did notice one thing when looking at shocks. It appears by pictures that KYB must make you re-use you bushings from your old shocks for the top tower. If you have Monroes installed at sears or yourself keep your old shocks complete with all hardware you may need it and I don't recomment 5983 Monroes.
