I did some research when trying to decide between the 9-5 and 9-3 (I think both have their qualities and honestly I liked both of them equally) and I read somewhere that the '99 9-5 (1st year of production I believe) was plagued with problems that weren't corrected until later runs and that the 2002 though visually refreshed carries significant mechanical/electrical changes that address many of the problems they were having. The '98 NG900 on the other hand that you are considering is the pick of the litter apparently. My vote is for the NG900 for this fact alone. I'm waiting for the 2002/2003 9-5's to come down in price so I can snag one. Ahhh, the beauty of absurdly quickly depreciation on these vehicles............
