Front brakes "pulsing"...OK?

We just had the front brakes and rotors replaced by our local wrench on my wife's '97 900SE. My wife says that now the brakes seem to "pulse" as she glides to a stop (brakes lightly applied) and "it didn't do that before". I noticed it a bit, kind of like the brakes are grabbing and releasing, but it's not too bad, and it only occurs under light braking. Hard stops produce no wheel shimmy, so the rotors are true. The mechanic can't find anything wrong, but my wife is still worried. I'm thinking that the new pads weren't bedded-in properly and there is some pad material transferred to the rotors, but wanted to check the list wisdom. Maybe a few 60 mph+ hard stops will fix it?
Any BTDT? Thanks in advance!
PS...glad I found you guys. I've been on the Audi BB's for years for my other car, but now the wife's car is getting to the age where I gotta pay more attention to it!
