A bit rash, wouldn't you say? It uses no oil. No rust. Body in perfect shape. Still seems fairly strong. I paid $4200 last summer. I knew the higher mileage would need some caring for, but it is our $4200 second car that fits us perfectly.
Now, I am going to be trying some additives to clear up the "grit" issue. What about the timing chain? As I mentioned, there are slight grooves worn in the upper "guide". Is there any adjustment? Is this normal?
Dick in Falls Church: can you give some more info on the Amsoil flush you are talking about? Anyone done this? Does it break down gaskets, leaving a clean leaky engine (or worse if the seals on the cylinders are worn?)
I know there is risk in not "dumping it now", but there is a lot of good going for this car, and I feel that some attention and special treatment can clea things up, leaving a vehicle in very good shape.
