This seems to be relative common problem - especially in lower temps.
You may have to pull the radio fuse, disconnect the changer cable from the changer, put the radio back in, enter security code.
The once the radio is functioning again, turn radio off (pulling fuse not necessary), reconnect changer, and try the CD button again.

If this doesn't work you may have to try again and pull the fuse the second time before reconnecting the changer.

If it still doesn't work you may have to try various combinations of the above. It happened to me twice so far (in the 8 years I've had my car) and both times, I've had to try various permutations of the above.
