Reviewing the results of the SOC 2009 Dyno competition in the Nines Magazine, JWZ Tune ( John Williams ) swept the Unlimited class and 2nd in the Grade School class ( Stage 3 And Under ). Congratulations to John Williams though that may be old news to those that were involved.
It was noted in the Nines Magazine that my car was "Self Tuned" in 3rd place. Well, since Brad Schafner did most of the performance mods on my C900, I wanted to make sure that he was recognized for the modifications made to the car. I did spend a terrific amount of time and effort on it, but Brad from George's Imports should get the credit rather than "Self Tuned".
After SOC was over, and I was checking under the hood, I noticed that the water injection reservoir fluid level was not reduced by much....I had overlooked reviewing the level with all the other things going on at the convention, even though I brought two gallons of moonshine mix with me for replenishing the reservoir...... After checking the water/meth injection nozzle the Sunday after SOC was over, I found that it was clogged, and I had only used a few ounces of fluid in the last 1000 miles, the drive from Kansas City to Copper, with the roundtrip to Parker, Colorado for the Dyno Competition. In other words, during the dyno competition, and the autocross at SOC, the water/meth injection was inop. After I cleaned the Aquamist nozzle, I drove the car on I-70 in Vail, and it was a different car.....the tires lost thousands of miles of tread after the nozzle clog was remedied....
As they say, "that's racin' " ........
OH.....I didn't know until tonight that the 'Landjet' got an 8th in the People's Choice award SOC 2009...I wanted to thank everyone that voted for the Landjet, SOC #142, and how much that recognition is appreciated. Once again, the award goes to many many people on the Saabnet board and others that contributed to that success.
In review, the car was 2nd in the novice autocross, 3rd in the Grade School dyno competition, and 8th in the People's Choice. Way to go Saab friends....you all made it happen.
