To All WASSAAB Members in Good Standing: (and members only!):
If you are willing to volunteer to help work this year's autocross on August 15, you can drive for free in the event ($30 is the normal cost). You will also get free food, and some SAAB goodies to take home with you. The event is at ROSECROFT Raceway at the bottom of the beltway. (Exit 4). We will be there ALL DAY, from at least 7 AM to about 6 PM. Yes this is a long day but it is a ton of fun and a great event.
"Working" the event = generally helping out!
Jobs:
Course Set up: Hopefully if all goes well we will be able to set up the course in advance (the night before). We will need help for that, too.
Registration: Pete Duvall will handle registration again, but he will need helpers all day.
Tech Inspection: Eric Heyse will be the head tech'er, but he'll need some relief throughout the day.
Timing & Scoring: Jim Miller and I will handle this, but we, too, will need relief throughout the day.
Starter: People can switch off on this one, but it's probably the easiest and most fun of the jobs out there! All you do is get the cars and drivers all lined up for their runs, including getting them into their proper parking spaces (which will be marked)
Clean up: all hands on deck at the end of the event!
