When it rains it pours! Or should I say poors?

Last weekend driving home from the grocery store in the convertible we hear this aweful rattling noise in the rear. We make it home to discover we hit a long stiff wire and flattened the tire.
So we order a pair of Pirelli P-Zero Nero's to mount on the Aero wheels and all is good.
Or so we think:
Changing the oil in the GTO Saturday, I'm on the creeper and notice the inside shoulders of the front tires are completely bald. I had been monitoring the GTO forums, noting that the '04's and '05's had some serious rub issues against the struts with the 18" wheels. The '06's are supposedly corrected, and while I don't see any evidence of rubbing, the tire's are pretty much done.
Rears are fine, even with the occasional burnout.
So, a full set of tires are going to be ordered for it. I'm thinking BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW's. Never gone with them, but the reviews are excellent. Being a 235-40/18 tire, it's one of the best price/values I'm finding.
But wait, there's more...
Driving the '93 Commemorative home tonight, I hear was sounded almost exactly like what we heard in the convertible. I pull over, but notice no damage or flat tires. I continue home. Once there, I crank the wheel all the way over and discover steel belts poking through the inner shoulder.
Well, yet another pair of P-Zero Nero's...
Like I said, when it rains, it pours!
