To All:
Weather and a hectic work schedule have thrown off many planned club events, and no doubt countless other events for all of us. We have a lot coming up in the next few months, so stay tuned to the website and here for updates and info.
Pete Duvall (The Nord) found an awesome junkyard that you will all read about in your next newsletter. The owner may have to move out of the space soon, and will need to liquidate much of his collection of SAABs. The club will be venturing to his lot at the end of the month, March 29 is currently the target date. He is located near Petersburg, VA (about a 2.5 hour drive). If you plan to go, please let us know. The club will provide refreshments for the journey.
I have contacted Maryland Performance Center in Gaithersburg, MD about hosting a dyno day for us. We can get a discount if we have at least 5 cars committed to showing up. We may also be able to buy a block of pulls, so if you only wanted to do 2 or 3, you would not have to pay for the usual 5 pulls. Right now, they start at $150 for 5 pulls. With 5 or more, I expect to get somewhere in the $130 - 140 range. This is not your typical dyno, by the way. This is a far more technical system, and they claim to be able to measure not only wheel HP but also crank HP.
I will be contacting other dynos for more pricing info, but this seems to be "the dyno of the future" !!! If you would like to join us for this event, likely the first week in April, please contact me ASAP.
CARLISLE is COMING! May 16 - 18, Carlisle, PA. CPSC and WASSAAB will be working together to bring you the premier east coast SAAB event. Jim Miller (Talladega900) is our contact for coordinating this event with CPSC, so if you want to help out, please contact Jim!
Please be sure to watch the website for more event info as WASSAAB 2003 gets rolling. Your club newsletter should be arriving to you this week. Confirming the date for some events along with awaiting some articles to be finalized caused the delay.
