If you are planning on attending, let's get those registrations in as April 20th is our cut-off for pre-registration. Registering this year has never been easier. Go to http://www.centralpennsaab.com and click on the registration link. You can register electronically, and either mail a check or pay securely on-line using Paypal.
While the event is held on May 21-23, Saturday is our big day, with free lunch, People's Choice ballots, door prizes and raffle and lots of friendly folks. There is a large import parts swap meet all three days, and lots of vendors as well. Our tentative schedule for Satuday looks like this:
7:00 - 9:00am Set up, car parking, sign-in
9:00 - 11:00am People's Choice Balloting
11:00 -Noon Lunch set-up/ Ballot tallying
Noon - 1:00pm **** LUNCH *****
1:00 - 2:30 pm Awards Presentation
2:30 - 3:30pm Raffle Prize Drawing
3:30pm Driving Tour Driver's Meeting
4:00 pm Driving Tour leaves
7:00 pm Dinner at Deer Lodge
For those folks who would rather not do the Driving Tour, directions to the restaurant will be provided for those who will meet us for dinner. We do not collect any money for dinner: everyone pays separately so cash is encouraged to make things easier with one bill. We will be sending out the dinner menu ahead of time, along with group pricing as in years past.
New this year will be a change in the driving tour. We'll still be heading North from Carlisle over Wagoner's Gap, which is always a picturesque and fun part of the run, but we will not be heading up to Little Buffalo State Park. Instead, we will make the turn and head South on Route 233 and make our way to King's Gap, whcih is one of the highest elevations rimming the valley. On a clear day, (as we hope it will be), we'll be able to see across the entire valley and back to Wagoner's Gap. The drive up to the top of King's Gap has plenty of twists and turns to keep you occupied with the steering wheel, and at the top, there is plenty of room to get out and stretch your legs before we head to dinner. To find out more about King's Gap click on: http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/stateparks/parks/kingsgap.aspx
Stay tuned for more info to follow in the next few days. We will also be sending out some detailed instructions on what to do when you arrive at Carlisle: picking up your registration materials, goodie bags, etc. along with the (Famous?) "What to Bring to Carlisle" list.
