Man that was a good movie.
I can stop thinking about the Joker. The fact that he was left alive, certainly he had to be coming back into this franchise. Most likely the next movie would have featured him, although probably wouldn't have the focus that this movie gave him.
How could someone so psychopathic, evil, and intelligent just have appeared out of nowhere. His history certainly would have been explored in a future movie.
Of course, Heath Ledger's death changes everything. He WAS the Joker, how could they go with another, any time soon?
When they killed Rachel, at first I was surprised, but I should have seen it coming. The Batman will certainly be more interesting, not having been able to save the love of his life.
When Dent was in the hospital bed, still just showing his good side, I knew that Two-Face was coming. I figured that he'd disappear at the end of the movie, to reappear in a forthcoming one. He certainly didn't get the DC Comics treatment, but his death did set up future "criminal Batman".
Great Movie, Ledger will definitely get an Oscar nomination. My money would have him winning.
