I refused to see Hurt Locker when I read the first reviews. Many troopers also hated it, so that did it for me. The award was for the woman director, not the film itself. I also refused to see Avatar upon reading it cost some $400 mil to make. Given the problems we have in the world, that is waaaay excessivley over the top for any entertainment, in my humble opinion. I find almost all Hollywood film "product" not worth the time today.
I love movies so what to do? My solution arrived with Netflix, so I choose the most obscure countries and cultures and indy films for my entertainment today, and I have seldom been disappointed. Who has seen the new Lukas Haas picture SWEDISH AUTO ? Very Fine, filmed in Charlottesville, Virginia, at a real Swede car shop, and technically correct in all respects. Get it.
