I try to avoid these places, but if it has been a while and I have major bug build-up or really want to get the high pressure wash in every place that would be otherwise hard to clean I might breakdown and go. That high pressure hose is great in the wheel wells and undercarriage.
That said it would be my estimation that 1 pressure wash is the equivelent of 4 hand washes with regards to wax stripping. Its not like using Dawn by any means, but I can definitly tell that water repels less after the wash.
For reference I put 2 coats of P21S on the surface every 6 months and 1 coat every 3 months. I probably go to the coin place 4 to 5 times a year and have no worries about a good coat of wax being on my car at all times.
Also -- What I do when I go is I use the high pressure hose to soak the car and really hit the tough spots -- especially the rims and wheel wells. I then let the coins run out and hand wash the car with a sponge. I would never use that brush they supply. After that I pop more coins in and really clean the soap off. If I am really lazy I might use the low pressure wax and drying spray -- for the money it works ok and probably replaces the little wax I lost -- I have never had it hurt.
This was tough for me to admit given my anal car washing procedures....
