My FRESH paint job...how to care for it...

Hello, all..I just got my 1984 Saab 900i out of my body shop after having it totally restored on the outside....They painted it, then applied a clear coat....They advised me NOT to wax it for AT LEAST 60 days..If anything, they said to just polish it for a while before I even think about waxing it.
They told me that the clear coat will keep the shine longer than w/o it.
They also told me that using a car-specific soap from a car store, along with a really good hand mit is the best way to wash it for a while.
They said that a car wash can make swirls in the new clear coat and it needs to harden up a bit further before I bring it to a car wash.
Of course, they would prefer and suggested I never use a car wash..Only hand wash it..
You guys agree with everything here?
thnx...John
