You can re-paint a car any color you want... Posted by DougM [Email] (#211) [Profile/Gallery] (more from DougM) on Tue, 7 Dec 2004 18:42:44 In Reply to: now its time to paint, Stella, Tue, 7 Dec 2004 15:49:13 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
...all depends how much money you are willing to spend, which also depends how much will be painted(door jambs, inside the trunk, under the hood).
Insurance may cover the cost of the door replacement/repair, but the rest of the cost will be yours. The shop I work in does $2000 paint jobs every week, and that's not even the high end cost of re-paints. Rust repair and fixing dings and dents also adds to the cost.
If the car is decent mechanically, it may be worth treating it to fresh paint. If not, don't waste your money. I'm currently working on a POS Ford Bronco with rust issues, not mechanically tip-top, and the owner is spending $1800 to repair the rust holes, and paint just the lower half of the truck. Total waste of money in my opinion, but who am I to argue if he's spending money to put food on my table.
